Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, develop, and secure new commercial insurance clients through outbound sales, networking, referrals, and relationship-building.
- Build and manage your own book of commercial insurance business, focusing on long-term client relationships and retention.
- Identify client exposures and provide tailored insurance solutions across commercial property, liability, auto, and specialty lines.
- Develop and execute your own sales and growth strategy aligned with your professional goals.
- Negotiate coverage terms and pricing with insurers to deliver competitive and appropriate solutions.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, quoting, presenting, binding, and ongoing client relationship management.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulatory and brokerage standards.
- Leverage available brokerage resources, insurer relationships, and internal service support to grow and maintain your book.
- You have experience selling commercial insurance and are ready to take ownership of your production and income potential.
- You are interested in moving an existing book of business or building a new one with long-term value.
- You are comfortable working in a fully commission-based environment where your income reflects your performance.
- You have a clear sales strategy, established network, or defined niche you want to develop.
- You prefer working in an environment with minimal interference, allowing you to operate independently and focus on growth.
- You are motivated by long-term income growth, autonomy, and building a sustainable client portfolio.
- You understand that success in this role is driven by proactive outreach, networking, and consistent business development.
- Active RIBO License (Required)
- Experience in commercial insurance sales, business development, or production
- Existing book of business considered a strong asset but not required
- Proven ability or clear plan to prospect and generate new business
- Strong relationship-building and client management skills
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently
- CIP, CRM, or other industry designations considered an asset
