Overview
Our client is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Commercial Insurance Producer to join their growing team in Ottawa. This opportunity is ideal for a sales-oriented insurance professional with experience developing commercial business and building long-term client relationships.
The successful candidate will focus on new business development, identifying and securing commercial insurance opportunities while working closely with internal service teams to deliver tailored insurance solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Prospect and generate new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, and business development activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and decision-makers.
  • Develop a pipeline of prospective clients and actively pursue new business opportunities.
Client Advisory
  • Assess client needs and recommend appropriate commercial insurance solutions.
  • Present proposals and insurance programs to prospective clients.
  • Conduct risk reviews and coverage assessments for new and existing clients.
Sales & Growth
  • Meet or exceed new business production targets.
  • Develop a strong commercial book of business across a variety of industries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage retention and cross-selling opportunities.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with commercial account managers and service teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
  • Collaborate with insurers to secure competitive quotes and coverage solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
Qualifications
  • RIBO License required
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance experience
  • Proven ability to generate new business and build client relationships
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages including CGL, property, and package policies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with strong sales and prospecting abilities
Compensation & Opportunity
  • Base salary: $70,000 + commission
