They are currently seeking a Senior Account Manager, Employee Benefits.
Overview of the Role
As a Senior Account Manager, Employee Benefits, you will take ownership of a complex client portfolio while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and insurers to ensure best-in-class service delivery. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong renewal management, client advisory capabilities, and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of a renewal book, building strong client relationships and maximizing retention
- Collaborate regularly with internal team members to review account status and strategy
- Prepare and submit Requests for Proposal (RFPs); review and negotiate terms; present recommendations to clients
- Manage new client implementations and onboarding processes
- Negotiate, prepare, and present annual renewal strategies
- Provide quarterly performance reporting and plan analysis
- Present plan design options and strategic recommendations to clients
- Market client programs when appropriate to ensure competitive positioning
- Provide ongoing plan administration training and client support
- Host employee education sessions regarding benefit platforms
- Prepare communication materials and member notices related to plan or industry updates
- Partner with internal service specialists for day-to-day administration
- Support new business initiatives alongside senior leadership, including:
- Coordinating communications following initial prospect meetings
- Utilizing industry benchmarking data to develop coverage strategies
- Identifying and liaising with appropriate insurers (national and international markets)
- Preparing and presenting proposals to prospective clients
- Assist members transitioning off group plans with individual coverage options
- Manage daily account administration, including policy documentation, billing inquiries, amendments, and enrollments
- Support plan members with claims navigation and insurer coordination
- Minimum 6 years of Employee Benefits experience, including 3+ years managing client portfolios
- Knowledge of international benefits structures is considered an asset
- LLQP / Life License (or commitment to obtain within 6 months)
- Post-secondary education (degree or diploma)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
