Our Client is seeking an Insurance Specialist to support and manage its insurance programs, including coordination with a captive structure.
This role sits at the intersection of insurance, finance, and operations, working closely with internal leadership, external advisors, and insurance partners to ensure strong program oversight, accurate data management, and effective claims financial reporting across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities: Insurance Program & Captive Coordination
- Support the ongoing management of a captive insurance structure, coordinating with external partners on operational and reporting requirements
- Act as a liaison between internal leadership, brokers, actuaries, and claims stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely communication
- Coordinate data inputs required for actuarial analysis and captive reporting
- Track key reporting deadlines and escalate risks related to timing or data integrity
- Manage the annual insurance renewal process across multiple operating entities
- Work closely with brokers on renewals, endorsements, and coverage reviews
- Gather underwriting and exposure data from internal stakeholders and ensure completeness and accuracy
- Maintain working knowledge of policy structures, limits, deductibles/SIR, and key coverage considerations
- Coordinate certificates of insurance and support contractual insurance requirements
- Track policy issuance and ensure all documentation is reviewed and properly maintained
- Maintain a centralized database of insurance policies, including documentation, assets, and renewal timelines
- Coordinate the collection of claims data from insurers, TPAs, and internal teams
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all insurance and claims-related data
- Perform end-to-end reconciliation of claims financials across multiple data sources
- Track paid losses, reserves, expenses, deductibles, and recoveries
- Ensure alignment between insurer reports, internal records, and external reporting requirements
- Produce recurring reporting packages (monthly/quarterly) with variance analysis and commentary
- Support financial tracking related to captive and reinsurance arrangements
- Prepare clear reporting for senior leadership and external partners
- Act as a key internal resource for insurance-related data and documentation
- Support internal teams with requirements, timelines, and reporting expectations
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and data quality
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Experience in insurance operations, brokerage, carrier, TPA, or risk management environment
- Strong working knowledge of commercial P&C insurance concepts
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and reconciliation models
- Experience with financial reconciliation and variance analysis across multiple data sources
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with or alongside brokers, captive structures, or complex insurance programs
- 5+ years in a hands-on insurance, analytics, or operations-focused role
- Exposure to claims financials (losses, reserves, expenses, recoveries)
- Experience building reporting packages or dashboards (Power BI an asset)
- Familiarity with policy documentation, endorsements, and certificates of insurance
- Progress toward or completion of CIP or similar designation
- Experience with captive insurance or reinsurance structures
- Advanced Excel or data/reporting certifications
